From Request to Inspection: The Full Property Journey

Let’s walk through the complete journey of finding a property using Properti Nigeria’s core Request system, step by step.

 

Step 1: Posting a Request.

A Seeker needs a 3-bedroom apartment for rent in Lekki. They go to “Post a Request” and fill out the multi-stage form. They specify the transaction type (Rent), property type (Apartment -> 3 Bedroom), location (Lagos -> Lekki), budget (₦3-₦4m per annum), and desired move-in date. They submit the request.

 

Step 2: Vendors Send Offers.

The request appears on the global Requests page. Several Agents and a Property Owner who have listings in Lekki see it. They go to their “Listings” tab, select a matching property, and click “Send Offer” on the request. Our system calculates a Match Percentage (e.g., 95%) based on how well the property’s features align with the request.

 

Step 3: Seeker Reviews Offers.

The Seeker gets notifications. They go to their Dashboard -> “Requests” tab, find their posted request, and click “View Offers.” They see a list of property cards from different vendors, each showing the property image, price, location, and the key Match Percentage. They can sort offers by this percentage to see the best matches first.

 

Step 4: Accepting an Offer & Booking Inspection.

The Seeker likes a property with a 98% match. They click “Accept Offer.” This action instantly creates an inspection booking for that property with the vendor who sent the offer. Both parties are notified.

 

Step 5: Vendor Manages Inspection.

The Vendor (Agent) sees the new booking in their “Inspections” tab under “New Requests.” They review the details and click “Accept.” The inspection moves to the “Pending” tab for both users, with options to contact each other or reschedule if needed.

 

Step 6: The Inspection.

The inspection takes place, either On-Site or via Video Call, as agreed.

 

Step 7: Post-Inspection Actions.

After the inspection, either party can mark it as “Completed” in their “Pending Inspections” tab. Once completed, the card moves to “Completed Inspections,” and a prompt to Rate the experience appears, allowing users to leave feedback on the process and the other party. The property journey on the platform concludes, paving the way for offline negotiations and transactions.
