How to Report a Property on Properti

We rely on our community to help maintain the quality and accuracy of listings. If you encounter a property listing that violates our standards, you can and should report it. Your actions help protect other users.
Grounds for Reporting a Property
You should file a report if a listing:
-
Contains false information (e.g., wrong location, incorrect size, fabricated amenities).
-
Uses fake or stolen photographs that do not represent the actual property.
-
Is no longer available for sale or rent but is still marked as “Available.”
-
Advertises a price or terms that are misleading (e.g., “₦500,000” in the title but “₦5,000,000” in the description).
-
Is fraudulent or seems like a scam designed to extract money or personal information.
-
Contains offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
Step-by-Step Reporting Process
-
Navigate to the problematic property’s detailed listing page.
-
Look for the “Report Property” link or button. This is typically located near the contact buttons or within a menu (often represented by three dots “⋮”) on the listing card.
-
Clicking this will open a reporting form or modal.
-
Select the primary reason for your report from a dropdown list (e.g., “Inaccurate Information,” “Property Not Available,” “Suspected Fraud”).
-
Provide specific details in the text box provided. Be as precise as possible. For example: “The photos show a duplex, but the description says it’s an apartment,” or “I contacted the vendor and they confirmed the property was sold last week.”
-
(Optional) You may be able to upload screenshots that support your claim (e.g., a chat where the vendor admits the listing is fake).
-
Submit the report.
What Happens Next?
Our Trust & Safety team receives your report and will investigate the listing and the vendor’s account history. The vendor may be contacted for clarification. If the report is validated, the listing will be immediately unpublished or removed. Repeated violations by a vendor will lead to escalating enforcement actions against their account, as outlined in our policies. While we may not disclose the specific outcome of your report due to privacy reasons, please know that every report is reviewed and contributes to a healthier marketplace.
