Properti Nigeria’s verification system is designed to add a layer of security and credibility, distinguishing legitimate professionals from unverified users. The process differs slightly between account types but serves the same goal: building a safer community.

For Agents & Individual Owners

When you create an Agent or Owner account, you will see a “Verify Identity” section in your profile. To begin, you will be prompted to upload clear, color photographs of a valid, government-issued photo ID (International Passport, National ID Card, Driver’s License, or Voter’s Card). Our system, assisted by manual review, checks the document’s authenticity and matches the information (name, photo) with your profile details. You may also be asked to upload a proof of address (utility bill, bank statement) to confirm your operational location. Upon submission, you will see a notification that verification will take 24 to 72 hours.

For Company Accounts

Companies undergo a “Verify Company” process. This requires uploading official business registration documents issued by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in Nigeria. This typically includes your Certificate of Incorporation and potentially your Tax Identification Number (TIN) or relevant business license. The documents are reviewed to confirm the business is legally registered and that the person submitting the application is authorized to represent the company. The same 24-72 hour review period applies.

The Outcome & Badge

Once your documents are successfully validated, a distinctive “Verified” badge will appear next to your name on your public profile and on all your listings. This badge is a powerful visual cue for property seekers. It signals that you have undergone a background check, significantly increasing your credibility and the likelihood that users will engage with your listings and offers. For unverified users, this badge will not be present. We strongly encourage all vendors to complete verification; it is a critical step in building a successful, trusted presence on the platform and is often a prerequisite for accessing certain premium features or higher subscription tiers.
